About the Program
Are you interested in understanding social systems? Improving the environment? Making a difference? Working outdoors? Working with geospatial technologies? Armed with a minor in geography, you are prepared to make real-world impacts in meaningful ways.
A geography minor instills diverse intellectual approaches to solving problems. In Geography & Environmental Studies (GES), you will explore a wide range of exciting, emerging, interdisciplinary fields. Geographers’ communications skills, ability to think spatially, and to understand how things are related, are highly marketable in a changing, complex, and connected world. The GES program reflects the excellence that is rarely found in a regional state university setting.
Focus of Study
GES features award-winning faculty with diverse interests that create high-impact learning opportunities for students in inclusive, small-group settings, both inside and outside the classroom.
Program Requirements
The Geography and Environmental Studies minor requires a minimum of 18 credit hours of GES course work, at least 9 of which must be upper-division (3000+ level). All courses must be completed with a grade of C- or better.
