The 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (informally known as COP29) was recently held in Baku, Azerbaijan. Rebecca Theobald, associate research professor, attended the first week of the conference as an observer for the United States League of Women Voters. She provided perspectives on people, places, conversations, activities, logistics, and implications for the future of the planet. GES welcomes two new faculty members! Jennifer McLeod, PhD, is an Assistant Teaching Professor specializing in geology and Fuzhen Yin, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of GIScience. UCCS, GES, and the greater southern Colorado community are very fortunate to have these two superstars join the Mountain Lion Community!
