The 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (informally known as COP29) was recently held in Baku, Azerbaijan. Rebecca Theobald, associate research professor, attended the first week of the conference as an observer for the United States League of Women Voters. She provided perspectives on people, places, conversations, activities, logistics, and implications for the future of the planet. GIS Celebration Day. Join Joseph Kerski, PhD, Education Manager, ESRI, as he shares a selection of GIS tools in two presentations:
  • “Five Forces, Five Trends, and Five Skills Important in your GIS Pathway” 10 -11 am, Columbine 329
  • “Telling Your Story with Interactive Mapping Tools” 1:30 -2:30 pm, Columbine 329
GES will have a booth in the Columbine Hall foyer with videos, promotional materials, and geospatial tool demos throughout the day. All are welcome.

GES welcomes two new faculty members! Jennifer McLeod, PhD, is an Assistant Teaching Professor specializing in geology and Fuzhen Yin, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of GIScience. UCCS, GES, and the greater southern Colorado community are very fortunate to have these two superstars join the Mountain Lion Community!
